Originally made for a photography class assignment, this photo turned into a social justice piece as I kept building the set. If you can't tell, the picture is a mini recreation of the presidential debates between Trump and Biden (labeled with their names in the photo.) The debate is held on a cellphone, representing how we are fed our media, and their microphones are my wired headphones, showing how quickly their words travel to us. The controversial bit was almost unintentional- I needed light posts to hold up my gummy lights and the candidate's nameplates. Looking through my bag, I found the perfect option: tampons! With all the abortion regulations and women's rights issues, I figured it would be an appropriate statement to the rest of the picture.
