The Crane

In Japanese culture, cranes represent peace and prosperity. I am not Japanese, nor is this paper crane, rather, it’s Italian. I spotted it while visiting family, and it caught my eye- it sparked my curiosity. Who made it? Why is it there? What does it mean? These questions return to me when I see this picture, and it acts as an exercise of my imagination: building worlds and characters in my head to answer them. I see the crane as connecting two cultures from opposite sides of the planet; with its tiny wings, it sparks conversation among peers walking down the street. We can all connect to the crane, and the crane connects us.

Creativity is imagining an idea, and going through with the idea to build or create something unique, original, and maybe beautiful.
