The inadequacies of human existence

Holland V.

  • What are you when nobody's there? Are you the toothbrush next to the sink? It's had you. Are you the darkness of the night? It's seen you. There is a voice in your head, and that’s the closest anyone’s gotten to being understood. The human condition challenges us to be alone in a populated world. The universe dares you to stride on your own. In resistance to the unknown, I carry on.

  • Creativity allows us to be. It sees right through the hardened walls we've built for ourselves. It is a communal expression that ties together the human race; it is what connects us to ourselves and others. We exist upon creation, which is the greatest gift of all.
