The Pursuit

‘The Pursuit’ is the second piece in a diptych detailing the journey of my original character Maeve. She is a run away from a kingdom that worships spires which suck life from the land. In order to stop the world from becoming uninhabitable for most life forms she has set out to destroy the spires. Here, Maeve hunts a crane, a mythical creature in this world, in order to sacrifice it at the foot of a spire. I used stippling and cross hatching to enhance the space and depth of the work.

Creativity is morphing day to day experiences into grand battles and winding caves, moody protagonists and dark dungeons. It’s making something no one else could think of, because it was made by oneself and influenced by many personal experiences such that no one else could have your exact perspective.
