I made this photograph in a tunnel when a lamp and a koi mural caught my eye. The combination felt strange and interesting, and I immediately imagined it as a picture, so I decided to wait on the opposite side of the tunnel for the right stranger to enter the frame. After a few minutes, this man appeared and I captured him in motion so that he became a blur against the solid red wall.

I think creativity is expressing who I am in my own way. Everyone is unique, so our art and ideas should also feel unique. It means trusting my own personal vision, turning my experience, emotions, and thoughts into something that could not have been made by anyone else.
