The Temperature We Lost

Raeanne L.

Digital - Procreate

  • This artwork shows how human warmth is slowly fading in a world ruled by digital precision. The scarf, once handwoven with care, memories, and imperfections, is turning into something sleek but soulless, a product of systems that value speed and efficiency over meaning. Each thread pulled into the digital world loses more than just texture; it loses its story. What once carried the warmth of human touch becomes cold and distant. Besides showing the loss of traditional craft, this piece also reflects how real human connection and emotion are quietly slipping away. The woman stands at the center of this shift, representing those who still remember what it means to make, to feel, to create with your own hands. But that warmth, in both the literal and the metaphorical sense, is vanishing. Not all at once, but thread by thread.

  • To me, creativity is the ability to deliver messages that provoke thought, evoke empathy, and raise awareness. Through art, I explore what we risk losing as human participation declines in the digital world. Creative art helps me connect with others. This connection is at the heart of why I create.
