Trapped

Camera

  • As part of a project on pressing the limitations of strange photographs that can be taken in my backyard, I organized this shoot. The person on the left is my friend, who is wearing chainsaw chaps around his neck and holding a drainage chain with a face shield hanging on top of the tomato cage he is stuck in, and the person on the right is my father who is wearing a fireman's uniform. The photograph is intended as an allegory of modern life, where we are all constrained by the trappings of modernity and find ourselves in absurd situations, searching for escape.

  • Creativity means the depths of absurdity that I can reach while half asleep and delirious or frantically running around setting up different situations to photograph. I let the work I have looked at inspire my subconscious and the situation dictate the foundation of my art. Then, I create.
