This piece is a photo of my friend Xenia, who was my first friend in high school. We met while taking a placement test, and it’s really cool to see how we’ve grown over the past four years. She’s such a beautiful person inside and out, and I wanted to capture that confidence and growth. I took the photo in the school gym during our fall concert. I saw her looking so majestic on stage, lost in the melody of Tus Ojos Son Tristes. It was one of those surreal moments that felt like a crime not to take a photo of. I took it with the aim of capturing that feeling of passion, concentration, and subtle self-confidence. Later, I edited it to add an undertone of nostalgia, highlighting how much she's grown since I’ve known her.

Creativity, to me, is expressing myself through visual art and photography in a way or perspective that no one else can. Creativity makes you unique; no two people think the same way, just like two people are not creative in the same way. Creativity is diversity.
