I took this photo in the rural outskirts of Tijuana Mexico. While me and a group were building houses for families who didn’t have a stable place to live. The man in the picture my dad was taking photos on his camera, he was also helping us build. Most days we couldn’t even see over the mountains because they were covered with smog and clouds, showing how tough life can be there. Even though many people lived in poverty, I realized their land and country were still incredibly beautiful. We also spent time handing out food to kids and families, and their gratitude stayed with me. Seeing how thankful they were for a home that would last a lifetime is something I’ll never forget.This experience showed me that even if people live differently or have less, we are all human under the same sun, and we should help one another.
