• Artist Statement

  Vivianna is built from memories, both real and imagined, as a character relives the most meaningful moments of his life in his final moments after a fatal accident, especially the time he once shared with a girl named Vivianna. I began developing the film after hearing a friend regret losing someone over petty high-school drama. Their story made me think about how easily we let important people slip away. The film became a cautionary tale for anyone entering their last year of high school: reconnect before it’s too late. It also reflects on a world filled with violence and division, and the necessity of choosing love while we still can. While writing, I kept wondering what I might see in my own last moments, and I ask you this question: When it all comes to an end, who will you see?

• Creative Statement

  Creativity is the power to make art that has genuine meaning. In a time where AI is starting to replace creative jobs, our art and creativity can still capture something human. In the way we feel, remember, and make sense of our lives.
