This photo uses a construction setting to represent the reality of growing up. The girl stands on a chair that was never meant to be a ladder, holding a chisel in a room that’s falling apart. That tension is the point. Adolescence often feels like trying to shape ourselves with tools we’re still learning to use, in spaces that aren’t stable. Her calm expression against the rough environment shows how growth still happens in messy, unpredictable places. Nothing in the frame is polished, and that’s important to me. I wanted to capture that awkward stage where we’re unfinished and unsure of what comes next, but still show up and do the work of finding ourselves. The image reflects that quiet persistence throughout the chaos of growing up.

Creativity is about following my passion and what ideas interest me instead of what will get me approval. When people create from personal taste instead of reaction, we get work that feels fuller, more honest, and more alive.
