• Artist Statement

  In the winter break of 2024, I was experiencing puberty and had extreme emotions. My parents brought me to Izu, Japan, to calm my heart and body. Photography has long been a big hobby of mine, so when I saw this tranquil scene under the dusk light, I held my camera and took this picture. Framed by delicate winter branches, the river curves gently through the heart of the scene, its cool blue surface scattered with smooth, dark stones that guide our eyes to the red bridge deep in the photo. Warm golden light bathes the riverside houses, creating a tender color contrast against the shaded water. The red bridge anchors the composition, a bold accent of color that unites nature and architecture, stillness and movement, in quiet visual harmony. Imagine how this scenery has always been here for centuries.
