| Macbeth in Motion: A Juggling Interpretation, Paige G. |
|
| I created Macbeth in Motion because I wanted people to see that juggling can be a form of dance, even if it’s not what they’re used to watching. For me, juggling isn’t just tricks - it’s choreography. It has timing, musicality, breath, focus, and emotion. The narration from Macbeth guides my movement choices, and each pattern becomes a physical reaction to the story. When Macbeth loses control, the juggling becomes faster and unstable. When doubt creeps in, my movement slows and tightens with purpose. I know this style is unconventional, and that’s exactly why I love it. I want to expand what “dance” can look like by blending classical literature with circus movement. My goal is to make people stop and think! Can movement tell a story even without traditional dance steps? I believe it can, and I hope this piece opens minds to new possibilities in performance. |
