• Artist Statement

  As a classical vocalist at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, I revel in new repertoire, competition preparation, and refinement of my mezzo-soprano abilities. I believe music is the most powerful life force that helps form communities and personal relationships. Music has shaped my consciousness and personhood and built my confidence. From washing dishes to sketching, I sing with joy or sometimes listen to music in my head. With eyes and ears open, I wallow in wonder at how musicians can render a language as breathing and deeply stirring.

• Creative Statement

  I experiment with creative forces as a form of meditation and find colorful hope in connecting with fellow artists. In vocal performance, painting, photography, among other mediums, the arts stretch and challenge my worldview. I relish the exhilarating state of flow and process of improvisation.
