This performance of Phoenix's "1901" was performed by the 2nd Period Modern Band Class (Limits) at the Winter Concert in Balboa High School (Dec 12, 2023). Modern Band provides beginning to advanced instruction of skills necessary to play guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, and vocals (Winds and Strings with at least 2 years experience only). This course examines a variety of contemporary musical styles including, but not limited to, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Reggae, EDM, Hip Hop, and R&B. Students will take part in developing individual and whole-ensemble music rehearsal/performance skills such as reading, rhythm, control, stamina, and confidence. Students are expected to perform at school events and concerts throughout the year. This course is open to all students from no previous musical experience to advanced.
