I wrote this piece when I was home alone. The inspiration for this struck me late at night when I was sitting at my desk. As I was writing this, I was trying to capture the emotion of how it felt to leave your loved ones behind. Although this topic is intensely personal to me, I can understand the fear and that moment after something as serious as a accident—one that can potentially end your life. I tried to express that the best I could through pros, and by comparing a life journey to an astronaut journey across the universes. I kept this short and simple and I think I achieved what I wanted. I am proud of this piece and I hope it can capture that moment of feeling lost, of feeling adrift in this world, because I know it can’t be easy. I finished this piece in the morning, and when I stood back up from my desk, I had finished this piece.
