• Artist Statement

  This artwork is the first really big canvas I did, it was very hard for me since I was very nervous about messing it up and not liking the out come. I was very young and was still finding my style in painting. Back then I never saw any black women in painting and painted as if they were a princess, so it was my goal to make one.

• Creative Statement

  I think creativity is something that is constantly changing. It’s innovative, creative, inspirational, and it means different things to so many people. It’s a word that is broad and fluid.
