This piece was made with the intention of capturing how I view childhood experiences that I often feel nostalgic for. The original reference photo used for this was a childhood picture of me and my older brother; upon seeing this photo along with many others, I find myself feeling nostalgic even though our bond at the time was worse than rocky. I wanted to capture this feeling of nostalgia being a veil by cropping the photo and replacing his silhouette with a transparent grid, representing how I grew up without a role-model unlike my friends with siblings of their own. I would also like to mention that our bond now is much healthier now that we’ve grown up, yet I still find myself blinded by childhood memories.
