The throbbing sensation of nerves tethered to my chest lingers even now. Earlier this year, my mother fell from the ladder picking fruit and fractured her wrist. My heart was tight with worry every day that I left for school. Yet as her body mended, she quietly revealed to me the strength she had carried all her life. After following her around the kitchen, snapping picture after picture, I was finally able to capture a side of her that all could feel inspired by: A strong, single, immigrant mother forged through hardship and ruin; she, out of everyone, would not surrender to obstacles.

I believe creativity is something embedded in every individual. Although every person expresses creativity differently, I think the subjectivity of creative minds is what makes it so beautiful-- as well as the collaboration that it fosters among different people.
