“Ready or not, here I come,” I chased my friend across the park as he climbed up the play structure and jumped across the monkey bars. Life was so simple as a 7-year-old; the only worry I had was if my mom would let me go to the park or not. Now, the 17-year-old me would give anything for that to be the only concern on my mind. As my childhood comes to an end, I find myself reminiscing the past and dreading the future. Something as simple as a play structure sparks tears in my eyes and warmth in my chest. Every time I pass through this park, I am reminded of my childhood. I am reminded about how filled with glee and star-eyed I was. It lets me escape my fears of the future and, for a brief moment, feel the echo of my childhood.

To me, creativity means giving life to the ordinary. It means appreciating and noticing things as they are.
