A Quiet Light

Marley S.

Digital camera and lamp

  • When I made A Quiet Light, I wanted to capture a calm, cozy feeling — that quiet moment when a soft light fills a room. I played around with how the lamp’s glow spread across the wall, paying attention to the shadows and the gentle changes in color. Most of the process was about experimenting — moving the lamp, adjusting the light, and finding the right angle that felt peaceful and balanced. It was a slow, relaxing process where I could just focus on how the light looked and how it made me feel. I wanted the final image to remind people of those small, quiet moments that often go unnoticed — the kind that make you stop and breathe for a second. For me, this artwork is about warmth, stillness, and the beauty of something

  • To me, creativity in photography means finding beauty in ordinary moments. It’s about noticing the quiet details—like the soft glow of a lamp—and turning them into something that feels meaningful. Creativity is seeing light, space, and emotion come together to tell a simple, peaceful story.
