• Artist Statement

  In the setting of an abandoned warehouse, A Ray of Hope explores how there can be hope even in unlikely places. Something as small as a crack of the pavement and a miraculous ray of light allows life to emerge, taking the form of a sprout. The ray of light symbolizes the sliver of hope necessary for change, while the sprout symbolizes the powerful results that hope nurtures over time. This reminds us how hope doesn’t always come from grand gestures; it can come from the little things: strangers’ kindness, a peer giving optimistic feedback, or simply small acts of kindness. The ray of hope drives success from these unexpected places.

  To me, creativity is how you express the idea you are trying to convey. This can mean using a specific color palette to illustrate a mood or even using the composition of the piece to portray an effect.
