• Artist Statement

  My painting, "A Snapshot in Time", is a picture of my neighborhood on a Saturday afternoon. The peaceful stillness and tranquility of the scene inspired me to recreate it on canvas. The rolling texture on the buildings resembles running water, while the smoothness of the road mimics a riverbank. The vibrant colors of the buildings in contrast with the sky create an air of joyousness, bringing the summer day to life. The goal of the piece is to evoke a sense of relaxed freedom in the viewer as they take in the sleepy yet vivid scene before them.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity means to find art in places where no one else thinks to look. There is art in a friend throwing their head back as they laugh, art in the inconvenience of a sidewalk blanketed by fallen leaves; creativity is the ability to turn life into art.
