• Artist Statement

  Applemania is a contemporary solo-violin piece composed by Aleksey Igudesman. It is part of a collection titled Violin Project (published by Universal Edition), which gathers several new pieces for solo violin. This piece also appears on the album Fasten Seat Belts by Aleksey Igudesman. It is a lively and imaginative work, drawn from his Violin Project collection, which introduces young musicians to contemporary musical languages. True to Igudesman’s signature style, playful, rhythmically charged, and infused with humor, the piece blends modern techniques with a spirited melodic character. Though compact in length, Applemania showcases a wide expressive range, from energetic, percussive gestures to lyrical lines, inviting the performer to explore color, texture, and personality.
