I sing As in my acapella group Til Dawn, and Stevie Wonder’s “As” has become one of those songs that hits deeper the more I work on it. The message is about love that stays strong no matter what changes around it. Singing it makes me think about the people in my life who have been steady for me and the way music can remind you of that kind of loyalty. When I perform it, I feel connected to the rest of the group and to something bigger than the notes. It is a song that feels generous and hopeful every time.
