• Artist Statement

  This is inspired by a photo I took of my sister at arches national park. when painting it, I attempted to convey a sense of adventure. I used a lot of fleshy tones to try and make the surrounding landscape seem alive. I also used leading lines to establish my sister as the focus of the painting. many of the red lines were additionally added to make the scene seem slightly menacing, reflecting the exhaustion my sister felt in that moment.
