• Artist Statement

  Last summer seems like a long time ago now that I am in high school. I went on a camping trip and found a garter snake and a bunch of butterflies. A lot of the land I was on had burned in a fire. I don’t even know which fire it was. With this triptych, I wanted to consider balance and how we have to construct it ourselves. I like what Rachel Carson writes: ““The balance of nature is not a status quo; it is fluid, ever shifting, in a constant state of adjustment.”

• Creative Statement

  Creativity means to see what is in front of my camera lens. I believe in truth more than AI when I compose an image. Animals in my photographs have their own existence and when I can capture that, I also become a little more free.
