I like to experiment with manipulating space and time, to explore the liminal and jumbled moments that don't quite fit into our universe — one that forces us to constantly move forward. Accordingly, my artwork's title is inspired by an eponymous shoe-gaze album, whose cover art and music take me out of the linear experience of spacetime. My camera helped freeze my friend at particular moments in time, and I used Photoshop to rearrange the timestamps and the space around him. This piece was shot at school, where I often feel the pressure to get my life together, when I have little figured out. To depict me making sense of this place and stage in my life, I disintegrated the construction of school, and represented us as "floating" pieces finding unexpected ways to fit in. I hope it makes us question the alternative configurations of the world, if ours came undone.

To me, creativity means sharing the qualities of a personal world that one sees with others, in a way that allows the audience to see beyond the objectiveness of a picture, a motion, a sound... and to interpret, through experiencing the subjective medium, the memories and emotions that lie beneath.
