This piece was one of two response pieces for a segment of a Sustained Investigation I have been pursuing, "What does contemporary enlightenment look like?". For this piece, I wanted to show how integrating and grounding one’s self in nature can lead to a heightened state of being, and a profound stream of consciousness. The editing style on this piece creates a faux-double exposure effect, placing plants in front and behind the subject. The flowers dancing throughout the background add color to show the deeper sensitivity enlightenment brings and its strong sensations. The plants overlaid on the hands visualizes the natural grounding process--rooting oneself in their environment, running their hands through the water of nature, and digging their toes in the sand of time.

Creativity means life... the flare, the spice, the color. It makes life's 2d trail into a blooming 3d floral explosive. Zings of color and inspiration all over. Splashes of light and scrapes of texture. Without creativity I'm a blind man who can't see, without creativity I am not me.
