Brake Light

Darci B.

I used a cannon camera and went to a bridge over a freeway and used a low shutter speed to make my image.

  • I took this photo while standing on a bridge over a highway, using a slow shutter speed to capture the movement of car brake lights. By extending the exposure, I was able to transform the lights into streaks, creating an abstract interpretation of something usually mundane. My goal was to turn a common scene into something unfamiliar and visually striking, using time and motion as tools.

  • Creativity is about exploring the unfamiliar and pushing beyond my comfort zone. It gives me the freedom to experiment with new tools, ideas, and techniques I haven't tried before.
