Cardboard Knight Close Helmet
Addie G.
Cardboard, painters tape, tacky glue, wooden skewer, newspaper, acrylic paint, bike helmet

Over 9 days, this piece was created from 2 cardboard boxes, glue, and a lot of tape. I first created all of the individual pieces; I made the bolts, main helmet, mouth guard, and plume. Then, I paper mached over everything, primed it all black, and dabbled on metallic paint (but saved the feathers to paint blue). Then, I attached the parts, creating an axel with a wooden skewer. To finish, I mounted the bike helmet on the inside so it could be worn. I wore it for Halloween.

To me, creativity means taking something from your mind and making it real-- Thats whether its on a canvas, as a sculpture, or even on a regular old lined paper from school.
