This piece is a illustration of a very familias anr experience for Bay Area teenagers. It symbolizes the stark contrast between people's words their true internal emotions. When creating this piece, I wanted to reflect on the artificial nature of the people I have been surrounded with my entire adolescence also wanted to shed light onto how most teenagers, though they outwardly detest those who are younger, more innocent and freer that them, internally they yearn and crave for those feelings of contentment and community that childhood afforded them. Though this piece may contain graphic language and illegal activities, such as underage drinking, I wanted the voice of the piece to be raw and convey an accurate depiction of Bay Area juveniles.

To me, creativity means having the ability to see the world in a different, more illustrative light. To be able to seek out the beauty, but also the realism of life and transform it into something tangible that conveys the complexity of our world.
