Colors of Injera

Fabric, place mats, paint, thread

  • My garment's inspiration was Ethiopian culture and cuisine, the place mats used in the skirt are hand painted and hand embroidered to make you think of the bright colors included in Ethiopian baskets. The top is a asymmetrical one shouldered bodice with a white cape draping off of it, with some of the placemats are included in the top to provide balance and unity to the skirt.

  • Creativity to me is an amazing way to output the strong emotions, or thoughts I have into art, and to express the truest part of myself that no-one sees.
