My artwork, Colors of the Soul, captures the complexity of humanity as a whole through the interplay of color. The subject and how she is lit up with orange light embodies warmth, hope and connection. In contrast, the violet-purple shadows that contour her face and body represent the hardships that shape society. The streams of light behind her each represent a different facet of human experience and how they come together represents that no single quality or emotion defines a person; rather, humanity is a fluid concept that has both good and bad aspects which harmonize to create identity. This painting is a visual symbol on what it means to be human.
