The piece depicts an angel having its wings cut off, causing them to fall down into the sky and reach earth. Heaven and angels are shown to be mechanical, all joined together in a big machine, showing that angels and heaven do not truly have free will. The angel is shown more human like and without connection to heaven, showing that with their new identity as a human they will gain free will. In the continuation of this story, the angel lives a fulfilling life as a human full of choices, both positive and negative, as a result of their new free will. When it is time for them to pass away, they will be visited by an angel of death and judgement, where the once angel will in death be judged as a human.
