Decay of Opulence

Dream C.

Goache, Acryla Goache, and Clip Studio Paint

  • This piece explores the fragility of financial security, depicting a memory of abundance slowly consumed by time and decay. I started the work on canvas using goache and layering acryla goache layering thick, texture strokes to represent the heaviness of wealth. The piece then transitioned to Clip Studio Paint, where I manipulated the atmosphere, adding fog and mold to represent the erosion of stability. The combination of traditional and digital techniques mirrors the fleeting nature of wealth, real and tangible at first but ultimately dissolving into something intangible, fading away. Through this piece I wanted to capture the shift of fortune and the deeper emotional undertones of loss, impermanence, and the quiet/bittersweet destruction of what was once solid.

  • Creativity to me is the will to create and shape something out of nothing, whether it’s a solution to a problem, a new idea, or a way of navigating the world. It’s not confined to art, it’s about innovation, adaptability, and expressing yourself in whatever form feels right.
