Em Đi Giữa Biển Vàng (Walk Amist the Golden Sea), is a traditional Vietnamese folk song representing a young girl walking through the vast fields of golden rice as her love towards Vietnam's natural beauties grows. Through the soft melody, I hope to paint an image of the beauties of the autumn harvested rice fields on the traditional Vietnamese zither, Đàn Tranh, inviting the listener to join the scenery of the winds blowing on the sea of golden rice plants as you walk through it. I chose to wear an orange traditional Vietnamese dress from Northern Vietnam to portray both the warm golden sun and my homeland, Thanh Hoa, a northern farm-land village in Vietnam, alongside using arm movements to represent the wind brushing along the fields of golden rice.

Creativity is a form of expression that allows for me to express my culture and identity through my traditional instruments. I am able to convey emotions, showcase a story, and represent the traditional Vietnamese music through the picks on the Vietnamese zither and the dance choreography of my arms.
