• Artist Statement

  All around the world, no matter what language is spoken or area lived in, people are looking for serendipity; good news in the rough international climate we are facing. My piece shows an elderly man in Chinatown trying to find a piece of optimistic news that will keep him motivated to face the world, no matter what coldness shows its face and darkness surrounds him. I see not only myself but also my peers in this moment of time, all navigating through the darkness with optimism and hope for a brighter future.
