• Artist Statement

  In my self-choreographed piece set to Experience by Ludovico Einaudi, I sought to incorporate an array of movements that parallel the music’s gradually evolving dynamics and accents. From my first listen, the score resonated deeply, stirring juxtaposing feelings of agony and ecstasy that guided my choices in shape, texture, level, and overall choreography. As a whole, the dance invites the audience to craft their own interpretation, culminating in a truly authentic “experience.”

• Creative Statement

  To me, creativity means having original ideas and being able to bring them to life, which in my discipline, happens through movement of the body. Often times, improvisation prompts like utilizing negative space and embracing stillness, help stimulate my creativity.
