• Artist Statement

  The word “ordinary” applies to everyday life, might that be eating dinner with family, or in this case, being on call with a friend. Yet its definition is ambiguous. To be put simply, “ordinary” means normal, with no distinctiveness. In spite of that, everything must have distinctiveness. Otherwise, there’d be no need for anything, as another could easily replace it. Even the purest form of ordinariness is extraordinary, as accomplishing such a level of perfection is respectable. And thus, everyday life is remarkable, although it may seem contradictory. Plainness is peacefulness. With it comes the ability to find the joy in companionship or the colors in life itself; a simple life is nothing short of extraordinary.

• Creative Statement

  To be creative is to convey what cannot be communicated in ordinary life. It is an act of self-expression and individualism that is too raw for the orthodox.
