My work explores the quiet moments where people and nature meet. In this photograph, I was drawn to the silhouette created by the cave opening, framing two figures as they move toward the ocean’s light. I wanted to capture the contrast between darkness and openness—how stepping from shadow into brightness can symbolize curiosity, transition, and reflection. While creating this piece, I focused on letting the environment shape the mood rather than staging a perfect scene. The natural framing of the cave, the soft horizon, and the small gestures of the figures all come together to tell a subtle story. My artistic process often involves observing how people interact with landscapes, looking for moments that feel both intimate and expansive. With this piece, I hope viewers feel a sense of calm wonder and are reminded of the beauty found in simple, unplanned moments.
