• Artist Statement

  This photograph was taken in Mazatlán City, Mexico. I chose to capture this particular moment of the cliff diver: the instant after letting go but before impact where trust, risk, and freedom are compressed in a split second before landing just feet next to the rocks. Using photoshop, I edited the single burst of color on the diver to highlight aliveness that can be easily swallowed by uncertainty and scale of landscape.
