In the Greenhouse

Celina R.

Acrylic Paint

  • Greenhouses have always fascinated me — although it's contained by four walls, all the rich verdant hues and leaves of every shape and size shine brilliantly in its own pocket of sunshine. It’s as if the translucent walls melt into watercolors of the outside reality when the warm sunshine paints everything in a golden glow. Bright blues and greens are highlighted with tones of yellow that warm the canvas. I wanted to immortalize the vibrance of this summer afternoon in my own little jar of afternoon sun with confident strokes of acrylic paint. The pose is relaxed yet unsure, glancing curiously beyond the greenhouse door from the lush grassy corner towards a hopeful yet uncertain future.

  • Creativity means expressing thought through any medium.
