Misty Morning Hues on Tranquil Hills

watercolor

  • I drew this watercolor from nature during cloudy mornings. In the painting, fog lingers in the middle, faintly appearing among the mountains, giving the scene a greater sense of translucence. I deliberately chose mountains with richer colors—ones that not only have vegetation but also exposed rocks and varied soil—and recomposed them in a new arrangement. The shapes of the mountains twist and meander, but they gradually become gentler as they approach the horizon, creating a subtle contrast. The trees in the foreground add vibrance to the scene, while the tall pine on the far right rises from the bottom all the way into the top of the sky, tying the composition together as a harmonious whole. At the same time, the placement of the trees introduces areas of intentional blank space below, enhancing the overall sense of clarity and openness.

  • To me, creativity is a relaxed flow of imagination an easy, open state where ideas are grown and connected. It brings clarity, joy and abundance. Visual art is my primary medium for creativity. Creativity in visual art is the power to translate emotion and ideas into form.
