In the shadow of pears

When I created this piece, I was in an awkward and sad place with two of my friends. I felt at the time that I was the odd person out...that the dynamics between three friends was at times a bit challenging to navigate. That I was in their shadow, hence, in the shadow of pairs or in the case of my sketch...in the shadow of pears. In a group of three, there are two who interact the most, and the third being the odd person out. The fallen pear represents me, with my two friends hovering over my fallen body. They are leaning towards each other and away from me.

To me creativity means separating yourself from the rest. Nowadays this generation, everyone wants to be the same. Creativity allows people to embrace their differences instead of hiding them away. Creativity allows me to make my own path , be my own person instead of following trends I make my own.
