In Transit

  • “In Transit” is a narrative-piece that documents my daily experience on the bus system through all 5 days of the work week. Beginning on Monday, and ending on Friday, it captures memorable moments from my workweek. This piece serves as insight into my routine life, and makes the mundanity of daily commuting special. It was completed in a “sketch-like” fashion because I wanted it to be reminiscent of the last four years I’ve spent speed drawing people on my commute to and from school. The piece is composed symmetrically and in cells, beginning and ending with me. A single figure in the second and third cell. A family of three in the center.

  • Creativity is the product of keen observation. Art and creativity are important in my life because they make the ordinary brilliant. Observation feeds my creativity, my way of making meaning of the mundane.
