Koi symbolizes strength, perseverance and transformation. Not only are those values I uphold but koi fish commonly appear in my work due to their ties to my heritage and being a play on my last name. This piece of art was one of my first assignments in printmaking and I was challenging myself to add more detail. I experimented with adding movement through the piece by representing water in a unique way.

Creativity is the difference between being artistic and being an artist. Creativity is when I can take an assignment and interpret it differently from my neighbor through my self expression. Creativity allows me to show my personality, explore my heritage and express my emotions.
