The same dirty wall that was easy to recognize in my school’s worn down cafeteria became warped, uneven, dim, and mysterious. I was surprised by how something ordinary could turn into something intriguing by just experimenting with light. In this piece, I wanted to show the beauty in darker moments, when things aren’t as clear, but are somehow become more interesting. To me, there is something enchanting about not fully knowing what you’re looking at. Our mind can conjure characteristics like black, curves, hints of gold, texture, but can’t identify that it's the same mural that they pass by everyday. Midnight Refractions captures that shift in perception, showing how darkness, mystery, and uncertainty can be just as captivating as clarity.

Creativity means to me the ability to let your mind feel free. It is a flow state where your emotions, your thoughts, your experiences, and your dreams come together to express themselves in different forms. There is creativity in everything.
