"Mother Earth" started as the idea of us all living on the planet as she holds us up as her children. I painted the figures referencing two photos of myself; I am both the hiker, the one who experiences her glory, and part of our beautiful planet. The background is the Marin hills, where I grew up hiking.The text was actually the last part to be added, but it seemed fitting.

I've loved to draw since I was very little, but I was not naturally talented. I filled up hundreds of sketchbooks with bad drawings to get where I am today. I love showing someone a picture from my head, since I struggle with words, it helps me feel seen.
