Omer Ninham

  • I chose to draw a portrait of Omer Louis Ninham because he was sixteen years old when charged with first-degree intentional homicide and physical abuse of a child. He was affected by the justice system because they sent him to an adult prison at the age of sixteen. I chose purple because it represents balance. As a mix of red and blue, purple embodies a balance between anger and calm. The butterfly represents personal growth, New beginnings. It connects with Omer because he had a lot of anger as a kid. Now as an adult still in prison he has had time to reflect and has the opportunity to shorten his sentence and get out.

  • Having fun and having your own way of expresion.
